Simpson Strong-Tie DTT Deck Tension Ties are lateral connectors designed to make new or existing decks code compliant. The DTT1Z connector will satisfy the 2015, 2018 and 2021 IRC provision for a 750lb lateral load connection to the house at 4 locations per deck, without having to connect to floor joists inside home. The DTT1Z Kit includes 4 DTT1Z Connectors, 4 Simpson Timber-Hex HDG Screws, & 26 Simpson SD #9x1-1/2" Screws.
The DTT2Z Connector satisfies the code for a 1500lb lateral load connection at 2 locations per deck. The DTT2Z Connector will also work as a IRC & IBC guardrail code compliant post connector, attaching posts to joists. Each DTT2Z includes 8 Simpson SDS Screws & 1 Washer.
